As you drive down the new highway that drives over the Hoover Dam, even if you didn't stop, it is an impressive view. It was built during the Great Depression and men came from all over the US eager to work despite the dangers of the job. They would bring their families and a small town named Boulder would be established to house the growing population;
It was a mastermind of engineering feats. We took the tour of the dam which explains how it was built, how long and the obstacles it faced. Jim and I thought it was a fitting way to end our journey before heading back to Las Vegas the next day.
We stayed the night in a nice little Bed and Breakfast hotel that is considered historic as it was there during the building of Boulder. We too in a local arts fair and walked the streets of the town. The sun was shining and we had a great time walking in the shops--well, Betty and I enjoyed it!
We made our way to a place suggested for lunch and talked about this "movie" we had been making! Later than evening out on the porch of the hotel we enjoyed our last appertif in Boulder.
The next day we headed to Las Vegas and spent our last night in a quaint casino hotel Tuscany Suites and Casino. It was hard to say good-bye, not knowing when we would see each other again. In 24 days there was never a day we didn't look forward to the next day. My delightful Eddy and Betty made every day a memory to be cherished.
So now this little novel is done! I have had fun as I went backward in my memory, hoping I had everything right! Despite the over 500 pictures here, we could have done a 100 more!
I hope you will always think of this as our Great American Movie Adventure!! See you in Tampa as we try for Part II of the Great American Adventure!
All our love,
Jim and Donna
